Five Stars, Absolutely! We highly recommend this quaint, Hallmark-like small-town experience to all who are dreaming of just such a venue for their special day. You can find this gem just a bit more than an hour from the iconic Mackinaw Bridge and just off the sandy shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. The neighboring majestic Manistique Lighthouse makes for a picture-perfect backdrop with breathtaking sunrises & sunsets—the photo possibilities are endless. The grounds are professionally groomed, nicely staged, and inviting. Thank you to the Innkeeper, Elizabeth Douglas, and her fine staff for helping us create a uniquely personalized celebration of our wedding ceremony, reception, and honeymoon at this charming location! We can’t say enough to express our gratitude for the special attention to every detail provided by the staff. The guidance and impeccable taste of owner Elizabeth ensured all the timing and details were just as we envisioned. The venue’s amenities provided the charm, grace, and beauty of a northern lakeside destination. The layout of the main floor provided a room for every moment, captured in simplistic elegance. We arranged to use separate rooms upstairs to dress. The bride’s room even had my bridal bouquet center-pieced and waiting in a vase for my arrival, so very special! Plenty of parking just steps away for attending guests. Impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, its layout easily provided for any change of plans come rain or shine.

We delighted in the “Chef’s Table” experience where the private chef designed, prepared, and presented a nine-course fine-dining experience, never to be forgotten by any of our guests. Graciously tending to any dietary needs, each course was presented, describing in detail the preparation and inspiration behind his selections created personally for our enjoyment. The best man toasted to our happiness, the guests raising their antique champagne glasses serving our personally selected choices for the evening’s event.

Elizabeth was our main point of contact, directly linking together with her staff concerning details at every step—start to finish. Any questions or concerns were addressed promptly and professionally. The host was present and on-site for the ceremony and photos, and extremely helpful on the day of the event. Discreetly tucked back, she ensured our event flowed seamlessly from the ceremony to the cocktail hour, dinner, cake cutting, and dancing under the stars! The honeymoon suite was lovely, and breakfast was outstanding.

No unexpected costs or issues; all terms were clearly presented during our consultation. Everything went as expected; the cost of the venue was appropriate for the services and items included. The Inn provided all the seating, linens, and finery needed, as they are highly skilled and equipped for fine-dining experiences—all included, which was fabulous! We experienced an excellent value in our investment and maintained a perfectly on-budget event as planned. Any last-minute changes were handled both graciously and professionally. Knowing we had every possible weather situation covered with this venue gave us perfect confidence in our choice.
